Making an AI song starts with the same question as writing one by hand: who is it for? You might want to surprise your best friend with a song about the years you have known each other. Maybe you want to tell your crush something that feels too awkward to say in a message. Both are better starting points than make me a pop song.
If you still do not know where to begin, try Musiko AI. Its AI Music Generator can make a full song from a plain-language description, or let you bring your own lyrics and choose the sound in more detail.
This walkthrough makes a warm pop song for a best friend. You can follow the same steps for a crush song, birthday gift, travel video, or any other idea that means something to you.
Start with Easy Mode or Custom Mode
Open AI Music in Musiko AI. At the top of the generator, you will see two paths.
Easy Mode is the quickest. Describe the music you want, decide whether it should be instrumental, choose an available model, and click Create. Musiko handles the lyrics and musical direction from that description.
Custom Mode gives you more say. You can paste or write lyrics, describe the genre and production style, choose a model, select a voice, adjust extra style controls, and add a song title. Use it when the words or sound need to feel personal.
For this tutorial
For our best-friend song, we will use Custom Mode. The memory matters more than speed.
Step 1: Decide what the song should say
Write the song idea in one ordinary sentence. Do not worry about rhyme yet.
I want to thank my best friend for staying close through school, bad days, and all the changes after graduation.
Now pick one detail that belongs to your friendship. It could be the shortcut you took home after class, a running joke nobody else understands, the reels you send each other, or the video chats that somehow run for two hours.
That detail keeps the song from sounding like it was written for anybody. For this example, we will use the messages and memes that keep arriving even after the two friends move to different cities.
Writing for a crush?
Keep it just as specific and a little lighter: I like how you always save me a seat, and I want the song to feel sweet without turning into a dramatic confession.
Step 2: Add your lyrics or ask Musiko AI to write them
In Custom Mode, use the Lyrics box if you already have words. Put each lyric line on its own line so the verses and chorus are easy to read.
No lyrics yet? Click Write Lyrics for Me. In the pop-up, describe the theme, mood, language, story, and lyric style you want. You do not need technical songwriting terms.
Best-friend lyric prompt
Write a warm English pop song for my best friend. We met at school and now stay close through daily messages, ridiculous memes, likes on each other posts, and long video chats. Keep it sincere and upbeat, with a simple chorus about still sharing every small part of our lives.
Click Generate Lyrics, then read the result before moving on. Keep lines that sound like something you would actually say. Rewrite anything too grand or vague.
When the whole day goes wrong / Your message lights my screen / Same joke, different city
Plain words work here. Your friend should recognize the moment, not admire the vocabulary.
Step 3: Describe the music and style
Move to Description & Style. Tell Musiko AI what the song should sound like by naming the mood, genre, instruments, or production style.
Style prompt
Warm upbeat pop with acoustic guitar, light drums, and a clear memorable chorus. Friendly and heartfelt, not overly dramatic.
You can also choose one of the visible popular styles, such as Pop, Rock, R&B, Country, Folk, Jazz, Ambient, or K-Pop. Pick the closest musical home for the idea. Do not click several styles merely because they all sound interesting.
Crush-song variation
Soft dreamy R&B with gentle piano and a close, shy vocal. Romantic, but still playful.
Read the lyrics and style description together. A funny lyric paired with mournful piano will pull the song in two directions unless that contrast is intentional.
Step 4: Choose a model and set the voice
Open the model menu and choose one available under your current plan. The interface identifies which models are free and which require Pro, so you can decide before generating.
Then open More Options. Choose a female or male voice according to the character you want the song to have. This is not about which voice is better. Hear the line in your head. Which voice fits it?
Pro users can also adjust Weirdness and Style Influence. Weirdness controls how far the result may wander into unusual choices. Style Influence controls how strongly the song follows your style description. Start near the middle if you are not sure. Push one control only after hearing the first result, otherwise you will not know what caused the change.
Add a song title if you have one. For this example, Same Joke, Different City says more than a generic title such as Best Friends Forever.
Step 5: Create the full song
Check four things before clicking Create:
The lyrics include at least one real detail
The chorus has one thought worth repeating
The style description matches the feeling of the words
Instrumental is off because this song needs vocals
Click Create. The right panel shows the song moving through analysis, composition, creation, and final processing. Let it finish before changing the prompt.
Once the song appears under Your Songs, play it once without stopping every few seconds. Listen for the parts a real recipient will notice: can they understand the chorus, does the voice suit the message, and does the song feel warm rather than strangely formal?
Step 6: Fix the part that did not land
The first version may get the general mood right but miss the personal part. That is normal. Name one problem before changing the inputs.
If the lyrics sound generic, return to Custom Mode, replace broad lines with the detail about messages or video chats, and create a new version. If the music feels too slow, keep the lyrics and adjust the style description to ask for a brighter tempo and lighter drums.
Only change one main thing at a time. A useful revision note would be:
Revision prompt
Keep the chorus and acoustic pop sound. Make the verses less sentimental and bring the drums in earlier.
That gives the generator a clear change to make. Make it better does not.
Step 7: Save or share the version you like
Your generated song appears in Your Songs with playback controls and its duration. You can download it, add it to your favorites, share it, or keep it in a playlist with other versions.
Before sending the song to your friend, play it once with their name and your shared memory in mind. Does it sound like your relationship, or merely like a pleasant pop song? If the answer is the second one, fix one lyric. That is usually enough to make the gift feel personal.
For a crush song, restraint helps. Send the version that sounds warm and honest, not the one that declares eternal love after two conversations.
Quick route: make an AI song in Easy Mode
Custom Mode is useful when you care about exact lyrics. Easy Mode is faster when you mainly know the idea and mood.
Easy Mode prompt
A sweet modern pop song for someone I have a crush on, about always looking for them when I enter a room. Light guitar, soft drums, a shy vocal, and a catchy chorus. Romantic but not too serious.
Turn on Instrumental only if you do not want vocals. Choose an available model and click Create. If you want different words or another musical direction, change the description or move the idea into Custom Mode, then generate a new song.
That is the shortest answer to how to make AI music: describe a song worth making, generate it, listen like the person it is meant for, then fix the one part that gives itself away as generic. Musiko AI takes care of the singing and production. The memory, joke, or feeling comes from you.
